Electronics that connects the world

“Connecting everything – smart, safe & secure” is the motto of electronica 2018, the international exhibition of electronic components, systems and applications organized by Messe München and scheduled from 13 to 16 November in Munich. Embedded systems and sensors – among the most important technologies for the IoT – will in fact be protagonists in several exhibition areas and in many initiatives within this year’s event, featured by manifold innovations. First of all, the new halls layout, reorganized and expanded from 13 in 2016 to 17, with an exhibition area larger than 90,000 square meters. Furthermore, for the first time, electronica will host four conferences (electronica Automotive Conference, electronica Embedded Platforms Conference, Wireless Congress, electronica Medical Electronics Conference) and will be held simultaneously with Semicon Europa, so to offer a broader overview on the supply chain of such a specific sector. Something new also in terms of the topics covered, among which artificial intelligence, Smart Grid and Smart Energy stand out. On the wave of success in 2016 (over 2,900 exhibitors from 51 countries and more than 73,000 visitors from 84 countries), there are high expectations for electronica 2018, a truly international show that sees Italy as the fourth foreign country in terms of importance, after France, the United Kingdom and Israel.
