The iF Design Award 2019 goes to the collaborative gripper

This year’s iF Design Award jury decided to reward the simple, sustainable design of Schunk’s Co-act EGP-C collaborative gripper.
The Co-act EGP-C is the first industrial gripper certified by the DGUV, the German Insurance for Work Accidents, for human-robot collaboration. The certificate simplifies compliance with safety requirements for collaborative applications and reduces the time required to certify the entire system. The compact 2-finger parallel gripper with collision protection covers a wide range of applications: from small assembly of components in the electronics and consumer goods sector to assembly applications in the automotive industry.
The Co-act EGP-C also meets the requirements of the ISO/TS 15066 standard and is designed so as not to cause personal injury. A current limitation guarantees safety and reliability according to the regulations. The gripper can be driven very easily via digital I/O.
