The great challenge

by Cesare Cianci, FEDERTEC Vice President

First of all, I would like to greet and thank all FEDERTEC member companies for their participation and their interest in the Association so far.
My new appointment as Vice President of Federtec is an honour for me. I’m willing to take on the weight of responsibility that this position requires. I would like to thank our President and the Board of Directors for giving me this opportunity. From now on it will be necessary to make use of what we have produced and sowed in the past few years, although aware of all the difficulties, but with the firm belief that problems can be shared and faced together. The work carried out by the various working groups up to now has led to unprecedented achievements and has enriched the professional background of every single associate. One of the strengths of our association is the personal involvement of every single associate in the life and development of the association itself; this is the reason why increasing the number of associates will be our great challenge. It will certainly not be easy to overcome this pandemic situation in the short term, but by 2030 Italy could close the growth gap with the rest of Europe, provided that the resources made available by Next Generation EU are fully exploited: these are the forecasts of the consulting, software development and economic research companies for banks, insurance companies and enterprises. According to their forecasts, in 2030 Italy’s GDP could mark a leap of more than ten percentage points compared to 2019, with an average growth over the ten years close to 2%. This leap forward will only happen if the funds of the Next Generation EU are used efficiently, accompanied by reforms and a qualitative leap in terms of productivity, which will result in a faster recovery in the next three years (+3.8% average per year between 2021 and 2023) and bring GDP growth in line with that of the other Eurozone countries.
I strongly believe in this economic recovery: it is the common goal shared by our association and our member companies.
