Geared for Success, Creating Content

by Sergio Sartori, Consiglio Generale FEDERTEC

The leitmotiv that led the FEDERTEC assembly (“there is no favorable wind for the sailor who doesn’t know where to go” Seneca), is a clear indication of the commitment required in this period of great uncertainty, “sailing by the light of day” will simply not do. Now, more than ever, we cannot predict the future. We must prepare for it setting up solid objectives within a structured program. FEDERTEC wants to begin from this foundation: a fertile and solid ground where our ideas and skills will find room and energy to grow. The Technology and Innovation commission has taken promotion of a series of training programs on board (in the second half of this year) which will connect with the immediate needs of associates in these tricky times.
In reality, this is only one of the Commission aims, and that of FEDERTEC in general, which sees the creation of a networked macro-system of representation, as one of its strongest points. Specifically for this, a permanent working group has been set up, under the name of the Technical Directors club, whose primary focus is to be the association’s beating heart in terms of promoting technical, didactic and informative operations, coordinating and implementing the resources available in the best possible way, in parallel with the work of the other commissions. The Technical Directors club is the concrete result of the association’s spirit, an applied example of how to make shared factors of technical skills, in the pre-competition phase, available to all members. The watchword is: content creation. We believe the soul of an association like FEDERTEC lies in the passion of the single associate to be a part of the whole. This can only occur where common goals are nurtured and developed, meaning a virtuous circle of sense of belonging and pro-active participation is engendered, thus, the association itself comes alive. With a starting point of shared interest, based on common priorities, all those present in this group will be able to exchange business experience from their sector, meaning points of strength and eventual weakness are brought to the fore. This not only allows company culture to grow within state of the art standards, but also means R&D functions in an integrated supply chain, in which companies (both large scale and SMEs) can increase competitiveness, collaborate in synergy, among themselves and with universities, research centers and third parties as parts of a single integrated eco-system. Objectives and strategy are laid down: the Technical directors club sets off on its journey, opening its doors to all associates.
