Un considerevole progresso in questo campo \u00e8 stato ottenuto con l\u2019introduzione dei cosiddetti <em>metamateriali<\/em>, cio\u00e8 materiali artificiali, essenzialmente costituiti da materiali comuni (metalli, plastiche, ceramiche, ecc.) ai quali per\u00f2 si fanno acquisire nuove ed inusuali propriet\u00e0 elastiche grazie alla particolare ingegnerizzazione della loro struttura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Uno studio importante<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uno dei principali limiti attuali dei metamateriali consiste per\u00f2 nella limitata possibilit\u00e0 di controllo dinamico delle loro caratteristiche di operazione. Ad esempio, un metamateriale progettato e fabbricato per attenuare la propagazione di onde elastiche entro un certo intervallo di frequenza non pu\u00f2 essere modificato per operare in un intervallo di frequenze differente. Questo implica una scarsa versatilit\u00e0 e adattabilit\u00e0 alle variazioni esterne e alle varie applicazioni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lo studio <em>\u201c<\/em>Tunable photo-responsive elastic metamaterials<em>\u201d, <\/em>coordinato da Antonio Gliozzi ed Emiliano Descrovi, del Dipartimento Scienza Applicata e Tecnologia del Politecnico di Torino, in collaborazione con l\u2019Empa di Zurigo e l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Lille e pubblicato sulla rivista Nature Communications, supera questa limitazione, dimostrando per la prima volta il funzionamento di metamateriali \u201cadattabili\u201d, ovvero con funzionalit\u00e0 regolabili, per mezzo di uno stimolo luminoso.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lo studio coordinato dal Politecnico di Torino, pubblicato su Nature Communications, propone una nuova tecnologia per realizzare materiali strutturati tramite stampa 3D le cui propriet\u00e0 elastiche possono essere modulate grazie all\u2019applicazione mirata di stimoli luminosi.
