Motorfeedback systems

Smart Motor Sensors are Sick’s solution addressing the demand for cutting-edge electrical drive systems by digitized machine and plant manufacturers. Often invisible, these solutions fit any machine. Like classic motorfeedback systems, they collect data to regulate and optimize processes, but they do so more smartly. Singleturn and Multiturn motorfeedback systems with digital DSL® Hiperface interface offer the technology needed to collect and store operating and process data directly on the drive, then sending these data via the motor cable to automation systems or condition monitoring applications. Information on the temperature in the motor or surrounding area, speed, vibrations or voltage consistency allows the status of the drive system to be monitored during operation, to be analyzed and documented using histograms, and to exploit information for preventive maintenance purposes, for example by setting custom alarm thresholds. All of this is done using a single cable.
