by Roberto Guccione<\/em><\/p>\n Metef was the first international event dedicated to aluminium and its industry, from raw materials to processing, machining, technologies, equipment and plants, products and applications. Founded in 1996 in Italy\u2019s main metal district, it has constantly informed the industrial world recording the extraordinary developments experienced by the light metal in just over twenty years and the market dynamics, from the energy crises to the recovery and recycling aspects, from Chinese growth to new applications in transportation, from foundry to extrusion, from rolling to surface treatments. Metef will come back to Verona in 2020, organized by Veronafiere, on May 27th-30th, 2020, aiming at offering a privileged showcase to Italian know-how in the transformation and machining of the light metal. In continuity with Metef 2017, which recorded an increase of over 25% in the attendance by operators and visitors with respect to the previous edition, the next edition of the show will be focused on globalization, innovation sustainability and the value of Italian know-how in the high-tech metal segment, which following the crisis has seen the emergence of new players in the fields of productions, technologies and plant building. \nMetef 2017 indeed detected the trend reversal of the entire value chain of aluminium and innovative metals, enhancing particularly favourable development trends especially in very dynamic cross-cutting macro-areas, such as the automotive industry, energy efficiency and digitization. Metef 2020 will therefore pay great attention to the development of Industry 4.0 solutions and to the digitization of industrial processes, which is spreading at an increasing speed along the entire value chain of the light metal, from foundry to finished product fabrication. Metef is also the summary of the entire industry, a large container of specialized areas where innovation and custom solutions will play a leading role in the exhibition area and in side events.
